Universal Central Extensions of Lie Algebras of Vector Fields
Abstract: These lectures, dedicated to PhD students but suitable also to skilled master students, aim to provide an inside to a topic related to the lecturer's research, namely central extensions of Lie algebras with focus on Lie algebras of vector fields.
Contents:
- Lie algebra cohomology. Perfect Lie algebras. Central extensions of Lie algebras;
- Classification of central extensions of the Lie algebra of Hamiltonian vector fields on a symplectic manifold;
- Classification of central extensions of the Lie algebra of divergence free vector fields on a manifold endowed with a volume form;
- Classification of central extensions of the Lie algebra of contact vector fields on a contact manifold.
