Reasearch topics

The Department of Mathematics contains a Mathematical Logic group. Some more specific topics include:

1. Algebraic logic: Many-valued logics and their algebraic semantics, in particular, Lukasiewicz logic and MV-algebras. The methods used are numerous, including algebra, algebraic geometry, and category theory.
2. Foundations of Fuzzy Logic and probability on fuzzy events. Study of state-operators on MV-algebras.
3. Modal logic with fixpoint operators.
